I dabble in 3D modeling, motion graphics, digital art, photography, photo manipulation, and video creation. I own a digital marketing company and a small independent publishing imprint called DVM Press.
I got my start doing fiction book cover art animations in After Effects, using motion graphics to breathe life into still 2D images. After a couple of years the "2.5D" that After Effects offers just wasn't cutting it anymore, I was tired of just compositing in the smoke, fire, and clouds offered as VFX asset loops, the flapping cloth in the wind. Especially since fluid, volumetrics, and cloth sims were getting good enough to be as good or better than the clips I was using. The price tag of C4D just didn't make good business sense as I'm far from a commercial production studio so I jumped into Blender instead. My only regret is not doing it years earlier.
I did a bunch of courses in hard surface modeling, made some stuff, took a break to publish some books, and now I'm back at it trying to refresh my memory and go from there.
Book cover art still drives me, both still and animated, but now I want to create EVERYTHING in 3D using Blender, After Effects, and Photoshop. I posted some older things, and I'll post stuff as I go and we'll see where it leads.
